Deer Park Middle School Music

As you’ve heard from the Deer Park School District today, there was a bomb threat discovered at Deer Park High School this morning. Every possible measure was taken to ensure the safety of our staff and students. DPHS students were safely evacuated and sent home and parent guardians were notified through our emergency call system. The sheriff and fire departments spent the day searching and clearing the building and our building has been cleared for safe re-entry, so tonight’s Fall Jazz Concert is still on!

Come check out some great jazz music from Riverside MS, Riverside HS, DPHS, and Whitworth University at the DPHS Auditorium at 6:30pm!

There will be raffle tickets sold for several theme baskets on display, and a silent auction of 2 baskets that will occur only tonight! We hope to see you there!

Band Boosters is ordering t-shirts, sweatshirts and/or hoodies.
Cost:  T-shirt = $10    Hoodie or Sweatshirt = $20
Additional cost for sizes = 2X & 3X=$2.00 & 4X & 5X = $2.50

Design: The t-shirts/sweatshirts/hoodies will be black with the same design on the front as the Pep band shirts.  The front will say Deer Park Band Parent and the back will say We are Family.

If you would like to add a personalization to the back (i.e. Jake’s mom or Mrs. Smith) it will cost $4.00 per line– 10-12 spaces and letters is what will fit on one line.  Ten fit comfortably, but if it is more, they can shrink the letters some to make it fit.

The MS Bands gave great performances at their Spring Concert on Tuesday, March 20th! The auditorium was overflowing with excited audience members. The 6th Grade Band enjoyed performing with the Arcadia 5th graders that will join them next year at Deer Park Middle School and the audience heard the debut of the exciting new DPMS Jazz Band! Look for the big front page picture of Deer Park 6th grader Abby Spray in this week’s issue of the Deer Park Tribune.

This week, our bands also attended the EWMEA Large Group festival at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. Both bands represented themselves and our program with positive and respectful attitudes and performed very well, bringing home an Excellent Rating for the 7th-8th Grade Band and Superior Rating for the 6th Grade Band!

Way to go, DPMS Bands! You’ve made us very proud and you’ve earned your time off. Enjoy your Spring Break, and we’ll hit the streets in preparation for the Jr. Lilac Parade when we return to school!

Our first Winter Band Concert is drawing closer! Please come support our students and hear some wonderful music on Thursday, December 15 at 7:00 PM in the Deer Park High School Auditorium. The program will begin with the MS bands at 7:00PM, and the HS bands will take the stage closer to 7:30PM.
